Young Love’s Dream is a glimpse into the freshness of first love — that moment when everything feels new, beautiful, and full of promise. It’s about two young men finding each other, falling into something real and unguarded. There’s a softness in it, but also a pulse — the kind of feeling that fills the whole world for a moment. The colours and strokes carry that energy: spontaneous, a little messy, alive... something like that. 

Young Love’s Dream is part of my ongoing series Sketchy Thoughts — a playful, evolving body of work that parodies the kind of “art” we see for sale today. It’s a spontaneous visual diary of what I see and feel around me, created entirely on my iPad — in the bath, on a plane, in the car, or on a beach somewhere — capturing thoughts before they slip away. Each piece begins with a passing emotion, a lyric, or a fleeting spark, turning those quick impressions into lasting images.

Together, the works in Sketchy Thoughts explore humour, perception, and the immediacy of everyday thought — quick, expressive, and rooted in the moment.
