Handmade in Belfast

Each Vessel for Life is individually made by hand in my Belfast studio from red earthenware clay. Simple, tactile and deliberately understated, it is designed to feel like a beautiful piece of pottery for the home rather than a traditional urn.

The vessel is made in two parts, with a carefully fitted lid, and finished by hand. The exposed warmth of the earthenware clay remains an important part of each piece, alongside the glazed surface and the small details that make every vessel individual.

A fine gold thread is wrapped around the finished vessel, a quiet reference to connection, memory and the lives that remain woven through our own.

Because each vessel is made individually by hand, there will naturally be small variations in form, surface and finish. These are part of the character of the piece and mean that no two vessels will ever be exactly the same.
