This piece is about an obsession — with the moon, with escape, with wanting something just out of reach. Fly Me To The Moon borrows from the song, but it’s less about romance and more about that restless longing to be somewhere else, to chase what’s glowing in the distance. The birds become dreamers, orbiting an idea rather than a planet. It’s funny and a bit tragic too — because who hasn’t wanted to fly straight into their own impossible dream?

Fly Me To The Moon is part of my ongoing series Sketchy Thoughts — a playful, evolving body of work that parodies the kind of “art” we see for sale today. It’s a spontaneous visual diary of what I see and feel around me, created entirely on my iPad — in the bath, on a plane, in the car, or on a beach somewhere — capturing thoughts before they slip away. Each piece begins with a passing emotion, a lyric, or a fleeting spark, turning those quick impressions into lasting images.
