Can Coca Cola is a playful nod to an arguably disrespectful moment in the NI Assembly, when Gregory (one of our leading politicians) offered his own creative take on the Irish for ‘speaker’ when he referred to them as “Ceann Comhairle”. It raised a few eyebrows at the time. Here, the moment is reimagined with humour and lightness, a cheerful celebration of language, mischief, and the charm of getting things slightly wrong, even if it was done from a place of ignorance.
Our Wee Country’ related pieces quietly acknowledge events and groups that have shaped the history of Ireland, particularly in the North. They do not celebrate what happened, instead, they offer a simple, reflective nod to their place in a complex and often difficult past.
A donation from the sale of every piece relating to ‘The Troubles’ will be made to a charity supporting children and communities affected by conflict.
Our Belfast Delft tiles are true ceramic piece - Kiln fired to 850°C in our Belfast studio each tile begins as an original watercolour sketch by Stephen. Inspired by the iconic blue and white Delftware of the Netherlands, itself influenced by Chinese Ming dynasty porcelain, these tiles blend tradition with a contemporary, playful spirit. Each piece is reflective and experimental. They tell small visual stories designed to spark conversation.
Each tile is approx. 10cm x 10cm, and it comes with its own little easel.
