These pieces are drawn from the kinds of moments you would only find in Ireland in the latter part of the 20th century, the small, familiar scenes of growing up, full of humour, warmth, and a bit of cheek. We were a generation before the labels, long before anyone thought to call us anything at all, though apparently we are Gen X/Y, or something like that. They playfully capture how we got on back then, holding onto a shared sense of identity and the everyday moments that shaped it.
Our Belfast Delft tiles are true ceramic piece - Kiln fired to 850°C in our Belfast studio each tile begins as an original watercolour sketch by Stephen. Inspired by the iconic blue and white Delftware of the Netherlands, itself influenced by Chinese Ming dynasty porcelain, these tiles blend tradition with a contemporary, playful spirit. Each piece is reflective and experimental. They tell small visual stories designed to spark conversation.
Each tile is approx. 10cm x 10cm, and it comes with its own little easel.
