This iconic landmark dominates the Belfast skyline dramatically from almost anywhere in the city. Still in use to this day, the cranes (Samson and Goliath) of Harland and Wolff and the Belfast shipyard are beloved all over the world for many sentimental reasons and of course| for being the birthplace of the “ship of dreams|” the Titanic.
The cranes| now highly regarded as a symbol of hope to Belfastians and of many Northern Ireland’s residents, stand at 106metres and 96metres respectively are a beacon of light that shines brightly into the shared future of this mighty city and province and out of the trouble past.
